Snow in Fiasco!

Ok so my wonderful husband begged me to go out in the crazy snow storm ( just kidding.. we had maybe 5 inches) to go get groceries to cook him supper tonight.

I gladly refused.

Tonight I slapped together what I call "would have been chicken parm"

I pretty much just took chicken breasts, covered it with garlic powder, pepper, salt, and a tad pinch of paprika.  Seared it in olive oil until the outside was nice and brown.

Took some already made marinara sauce from the great Newman guy that has his face on salad dressing bottles also.  Put that in a casserole dish and popped that sucker in the oven (with the chicken) on 400*.

Your probably asking yourself... " why is it called would have been chicken parm?"

I have no Parmesan cheese... I know.. its a sad day.  So I'm stuck with a packet of mexican blend cheese I picked up at Walmart the last time I was out. . . So lets hope that this turns out okay because if not then I don't think I'll hear the end of it!

Here is the finished product!

To some it may look gross. but it was so delish!  The Mexican cheese actually worked just as good!

Here is a better picture of the finished product :)

I say yum!

Blah day

So today is definitely a cleaning day.

Have you ever just looked around and said ok... where's my maid at!  Then you look in the mirror and say "get back to work!" haha.  Yeah. Its definitely that kind of day.

It must be nice to have someone clean your home for you.  I mean hiring in some help would be lovely but honestly who does that?  I hate spending money on chores anyway so why would I pay for someone to do my chores?  That is ridiculous!  Oh well.

I was cleaning out my closet the other day though and I found a pair of wooden candle sticks.  I'm definitely thinking about doing a craft with them.  Not sure what though.  Any Ideas?

I saw really cute wooden candle sticks a while back all scuffed up and sanded.. they had white washed them and put a tad bit of blue in them.  to make it really beachy like.  I know beachy isn't a word; But I just used it.

I got them at a yard sale a while back so  I hope I can turn this 50 cent purchase into something amazing.

Yard sales are kind of sad to me... I mean if you think about it.. Remember the Brave Little Toaster?  All they wanted was love... and they got left behind.. I feel like thats the case for the stuff that doesn't get sold at yard sales...  Everyone wants to get owned! haha.  Whether your an inanimate object or a puppy.  Everything deserves a home.

Anyway Here is a picture of the Candle Sticks.. If you have any bright ideas please fill me in :)

Yes I tried to edit this picture because my huge computer is behind it haha.  Maybe I'll invest in some black fabric for all of my photography ventures.  :)

Resolutions

First time blogging adventure.

This year I've been focusing most of my time on things I would like to do in my life. I guess you could call it a bucket list of some sort.

I'm tired of making silly resolutions saying " I'm gonna lose 50 lbs" ... ok. So I don't need to lose 50 lbs... but it was clearly to make a point.  I mean how many people make false promises to themselves each year and never follow through with it! Not me! Not this year!

So far on my list of things to do are pretty simple.

-Fill up my recipe box with nothing but good home made recipes.
-Master the art of baking (and cake decorating)
-Completely re vamp myself!
-Focus on my family.
-Travel!
-Take more pictures and document more crazy moments with everyone I love.
-And to just try anything new!

I feel that if you set completely simple goals then you can accomplish so much more!  I know that I'm not going to be disappointed.

By the way. I bought some completely cute Recipe Cards online today.  I cant wait to start making a mark on them :)

I dont know if anyone will ever read this. But if you are out there; Thank you.  I appreciate it. I really do.

Whoever you are. <3
